He chose to continue his education at South Baylo University and pursue his Doctorate in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine to deepen his knowledge in patient evaluation, diagnosis and become an even better practitioner.

Kenny Phan received extensive clinical training in Vietnam for many years. He then continued his education in the United States.

His diverse clinical experiences in acupuncture included volunteering at local churches and temples in Vietnam and then later in the United States.

He also had chance to spend couple of years working closely with his mentors in Vietnam and was able to share his unique insight of Chinese medicine with his patients as well as treating various diseases ranging from chronic pain, personal injuries, digestive issues, various types of headaches, allergies and immunology problems.

Kenny loves working with people and his main focus during treatment is that his patients feel relaxed and cared for. Kenny’s passion has always been to assist and naturally heal people using acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine by finding the root cause of the problems rather than treating just the symptoms. Each of his treatment usually lasts for more than an hour because he believes in quality more than quantity.

Why did we pick Kenny Phan as part of our Premier IFM team?

Choosing an acupuncturist (or any doctor) is not an easy task. As owner of Premier IFM I am obviously responsible for finding like minded and trained individuals that suit the needs of our patients and the direction of our office.

Choosing any healthcare practitioner is not merely a choice of good, bad, right or wrong. It is more a choice who it the BEST choice for you.

When searching for a healthcare practitioner you can often feel like you are being pulled in a million different directions.

Patients often suffer from “analysis paralysis” due to feeling overwhelmed.

Lucky for you I have taken all the guess work out of finding the right practitioner (which is no easy task by the way). Kenny strikes the perfect balance between being able to perform acute care for pain relief, providing care for chronic conditions, and being able to help prevent disease by providing unparalleled preventative acupuncture care.

You can be rest assured that you have picked the right acupuncturist because I’ve gone through the trouble sifting through them all for you.

How does Acupuncture work?

The history of Chinese Medicine began about the second century BC and the medicine itself at that time was more than 2,000 years old.

The most influential book in Chinese Medicine called the Yellow Emperor’s Inner Canon. This book presents views on the functions of the human body and the physical world that remain the basic ideas believed by traditional medicine practitioners.

Our body contains Yin and Yang, Qi and Blood and Five Elements which pertain to the five Zang and six Fu organs. We get pain, lack of function, and illness when these elements become imbalanced.

The dominant function of acupuncture is to regulate the circulation of Qi and Blood, restore body’s balance back to its original. It also strives to improve the body’s functions and promotes the natural self-healing process by stimulating specific anatomic sites - commonly referred to as acupuncture points.

Chinese Medicine believes that illness or diseases first enter the body through the skin, then penetrate inward through muscles, internal organs and if not treated within time, to the marrow of the bone. To simplify things furthermore, our blood is flowing in a circular motion from the top to the bottom and from the bottom back to the top. For example, we feel pain when there is a blockage in our blood system. To resolve this problem, the acupuncturist would stimulate the acupuncture points with various methods. The most common method is the insertion of fine, sterile needles into the skin that near the pain location or the furthest away from the pain location to treat the condition and try to restore back the smooth flow of Qi and Blood.

Pressure, heat, or electrical stimulation may further enhance the effects. Other acupuncture point stimulation techniques also might be used include: moxibustion or heat therapy, cupping, and the application of herbal medicines.

In essence, acupuncture involves re-edifying a disturbance in the flow of Qi and Blood. When the Qi and Blood circulate correctly, the body can eliminate attempt to heal itself.

How much does it cost?

Our Acupuncture services strike the perfect balance between value and price

Currently our cash prices are $75 a visit. Our acupuncturist will generally spend upwards of an hour per visit. Much longer than the average practitioner. Our acupuncturist is specially trained to provide a more comprehensive and thorough examination and treatment.

Due to the nature of the type of care we provide on the first visit, it generally takes longer and includes more work. As such, the first visit with our acupuncturist is slightly more. Please call for current pricing.

For those that know they will want and/or need multiple visits Kenny also offers discounts on packages or 10 or more visits.
