What is a Vitality Booth?

The Vitality Booth is the only product of its kind that combines both Dry-salt Therapy and Red Light Therapy. Salt, also known as halotherapy involves breathing in air infused with tiny, pharmaceutical-grade salt particles. It’s considered a natural treatment for respiratory and skin conditions.

What to Expect in the Vitality Booth

When utilizing the therapeutic combination of light and salt, we recommend wearing your undergarments or a bathing suit for maximin skin exposure to the lights. You will be provide with special goggles to protect your eyes from the red lights. Do put them on before turning the timer on.

As you step into the booth, it starts a little cool, however the lights will warm the booth to a comfortable 78 degrees shortly. Before entering, make sure your shoes are off and your goggles are on then set the timer to 20 mins. Step in, relax, stretch and let the booth do it’s magic.

How is our Halogenerator different?

Smaller salt particles are easier to inhale and penetrate deeper, making halotherapy more effective. Optimal salt particle size ranges from 0.1 um to 2 um. Larger and thus heavier particles end up on the floor, chairs, and walls instead of reaching the respiratory system. When you are breathing in those bigger particles, it acts more of an irritant that causes immediate coughing and and runny nose. This gives a placebo effect, however does not have any real benefit.

Salt therapy helps to improve mucociliary clearance by attracting water to the airways, which helps to thin mucus. Smaller particles are more effective in achieving this as they can more easily be distributed across the respiratory tract.

While you are in the Vitality Booth, it is recommended you are doing some deep breathing exercises to really get that salt deep down into your respiratory for those long term benefits.

 History

In the 1800’s salt miners working in salt mines and caves in Europe and Russia were not experiencing respiratory issues like other types of miners. Mining jobs were very dangerous jobs at the time, working in a salt mine had very ill effects on the miners health. However, salt miners seemed to thrive on good health. They rarely had respiratory issue and looked much younger because of their healthy looking skin. In the early 1800’s Dr. Feliks Boczkowski after noticing and studying these benefits opened the first health resort facility in a salt min in Poland.

Later, a German physician, Dr. K.H. Spannahel noticed during WWII that people who hid in salt mines and caves had respiratory health benefits. He went on to study and confirm the medical effectiveness of underground dry-salt environments.

Fast forward to today and we are able to mimic the salt caves of the 1800’s to give us the skin and respiratory benefits.
